Shark – IQ Robot Self-Empty XL RV1001AE, Robot Vacuum with Self-Cleaning Brushroll

This is a great alternative to the Roomba especially if you are on a budget. It will slowly map your home and will eventually know very nook and cranny. It will also go up under beds! Where it doesn’t compare is shear power. Even on the highest suction setting there are things a standard upright can get this just can’t. Still if you want to feel like a million bucks while only spending a few hundred this is the way to go. Update to post I have removed stars because the product stopped working after a month. Had to call manufacturer to send a new base robot unit.

I love my new Shark but it gets stuck quite often. I have to admit that my dogs shed a lot and their hair gets stuck to every crevice in the Shark therefore causing it to stop and ask me to clean the sensors often, my dogs hair was the reason I purchased this product. Once I clean it then it goes back to work like a champ. Overall, I recommend this product. It was easy to put together, down load the app, and get it going. It’s a time saver.

This is a fantastic Bot. It mapped my home after just 7 runs. The only draw back is the mapping. When I created the rooms the Bot. got confused. So I had to not create rooms and let Bot. clean entire home. It cleans half my home and charges for 2 hours and finish the rest of my home. This works out well with me. I love the self empty bend. I will say it is good to pretty good. I wrote will reserve my final evaluation ending its ability to learn my house. At this point the maps is putting out after about 2 weeks only slightly resemble my house and sometimes I can’t figure out how in the world it comes up with the map that it shows me. But I do think it’s getting slightly better over time so I won’t judge it quite yet. It is it does have a few peculiarities. There are places that can get stuck behind toilet and around tables and chairs in a corner because it doesn’t seem to use topologic to get out of a tight situation but I don’t know if this is common or if I’ve just stumbled across a way to trap it in a corner. Also I regularly get an error that says dust top missing and it is never the case that the dust cup is missing and it appears to be intact and is not even loose but when I remove it and replace it the air goes away. Otherwise it does a pretty nice job. I don’t really understand how it acquires the map or at what stage in Math building it is at any given time so I’ll just have to wait. That is one significant Improvement in the app that could be implemented. That is the app need some sort of a progress report that tells you what is in the process of being learned and how the thing is proceeding because I don’t know if it is getting close or if it is months away or if it will ever happen it will that it will learn my house. So I just have to wait. And this is a bit frustrating. I would like to be able to map out certain rooms until at 2, for instance, clean the kitchen but I don’t know if it is closed or if it will ever get there to be able to Matt my house properly. I’m giving it 4 stars because it really doesn’t nice job on the areas that it hits and it does hit most of the house but 4 the price and range of this vacuum there are a few things that it lacks so far but I will say that I’m mostly happy because I got it at a discount refurbished on eBay and in addition even the retail price is not bad for this Robot vacuum.
