Very easy to set up. You can scan the instruction page with your phone and it starts the whole connection process on it’s own. We connected it to 2 phones and 2 computers. We had to order and install the chime pro wifi booster, because our router is a long way from the front door. Also, quick and easy to install. The sound and picture quality is great. This Ring Gen 2 is a definite upgrade in Video quality (now 1080p vs was 720p) over the 1st Gen. The connection to existing wiring is a step backwards from 1st Gen. In fact it’s a PIA if your leads are short. Its Motion detection is is somewhat slower than Gen 1. That is my only gripe, but I’ll get over it. I’m not concerned that the battery is not easily interchangeable, since the Ring is connected to my old doorbell power.

We followed the instructions as suggested and connected the ring to our existing doorbell and took the old doorbell off. We have had only a little trouble with the notifications being too sensitive that it goes off on our phones everytime a car drives in front of our house.
