Ever since I opened the box, it never completed one single job without my help or early termination of a job. But I have been patient and wait for it to try multiple times. Recently it could not even finish one room and constantly stopped randomly after 1min…I cannot do anything but to need reboot it and rerun. Why s9 is so bad, I should have bought the i7 or other brands. I tried calling the support line, took me 30min to wait in line and I gave up due to a meeting conflict. I will try calling them tmrw. Wish they can replace it and hope the replacement can actually help. And to be fair, I have been using an old model for more than five years and I know how roomba works and how to be patient sometimes when it gets stuck.. But this time I am so angry…1000 bucks for this piece of junk that needs my help every run.See more

It has an issue with bin which connects a charging cord. The cable end is smaller and the bin socket is bigger so cord falls off a lot of time. I received new cord but it is same, the problem is not fixed and still falls off. It also has lid issue and keeps telling me to close a lid even it is already closed.See more

I’ve had this robot for seven months and not a day goes by that I wish I hadn’t given away my Neato D5. If we weren’t working from home during this time, the house would never be swept. I say that because this robot finds various ways to fail. I feel like our home layout is pretty normal, standard furniture, and always picked up, yet this robot finds a way to get stuck in the most asinine places. I wish I could show you the learned map from the old Neato and the S9 because that would demonstrate exactly how poor the navigation is on the S9. Because iRobot may get defensive and accuse me of not properly training the robot: of course I’ve trained, re-trained, cleaned the sensors, done training runs with different lighting conditions, etc. I hope iRobot takes this review as not user-error my argument that the product isn’t user-friendly. When not stuck, it’s a bull in a china shop. It is blood-boiling to watch it repeatedly crash into table legs, cabinets, etc. Maybe the floors are swept but the wood trim is starting to look like I’m hosting Battle Bots matches. I bought this in the S9+M5 combo and am pretty happy with the mop. That said, it’s really frustrating that the vacuum and mop don’t share a map because it’s a hassle to have to maintain both of them. I’ll attach images of the two layouts: the M5 generated map is a decent representation of the house and S9 generated map is an abomination. I’m tired of retraining it because it takes days to complete. In theory, I like being able to tell the robot to clean specific rooms but it’s just not reliable enough. I ask Google Assistant to vacuum a room and most of the time it works but occasionally the robot can’t seem to navigate. What’s strange about this is the robot will give up and then navigate back to its base. Are you lost or not? Using the app, you can also create a one-off job to clean a few rooms and this feature has never worked. The self-emptying bin feature is great and I can’t live without it.See more

I haven’t been able to enjoy my Roomba because of the known software issue. There is an internal communication error in these units (error 31). Once you see the red ring flash forget about it. The product is not useable.See more

I got the Roomba model 9S+ It vacuums efficiently and empties the bin automatically without me having to do anything. When the grandkids left I just tell Roomba to clean and does an excellent job picking up popcorn, crackers. I’m impressed how she cleans the area rugs and pick up everything , is a little noisy but does the job.See more

I bought this on November 23th, 2020 and it is now December 10th, 2020. After about two weeks my first robot started giving error 31 every single time it left its base, I called customer support (who was friendly) and they can not help me because I move oversea! My internet works totally fine, I do not think it’s not my problem .Now Can IROBOT give me some sloution to solve this dead error 31 by myself. I will say – the vacuum, when it works, does an amazing job of picking up everything I just wish I could say the same about the software.See more

This is the second s9 that is having issues. The first was purchased 3/6/20. It would stop in the middle of a job and give an error saying it was moved while cleaning when it was not. They sent a new one under warranty. The second was received on 9/1/20 and is now refusing to start a job. It shows that it is stuck while on the base. Customer care was no help, other than to say this is not normal behavior and she will have someone call me to discuss it. I have a 985 that has worked for years and never had any issues, I decided to upgrade and move the 985 to the basement. Biggest mistake ever. The s9+ is trash.See more

    Hortensia's dad

I live on the bottom floor of a building that’s well over a century in age on the top of a hill in the middle of two large cities in the desert. I get a lot of dust. Vacuuming and Swiffing and dusting are daily chores. With Hortensia at the ready to do the vacuuming, I have more free time and it’s absolutely delightful.See more

First time I got the s9 it did not work and gave an error so iRobot replaced it. I got the new replacement in and I’m still having issues. The robot gets stuck in places where there is nothing blocking it, sometimes it does not dock it self and dies in the middle of a cleaning, battery life sucks it’s an hour long and another hour to charge. I attached a imagine showing how long it took to complete the job and how long it took to charge with the sq ft of my home it cleaned. Second imagine I attached shows all the errors I have gotten during my second time ever using the robot. However it does pick up a good amount of dog hair and dust, I just personally think the cons out weigh the pros and I will be returning it. iRobot does have amazing Customer care.See more
