Great simple little lock that allows you to reuse the key. Set up several of theses and all are simple to set up. The first one did took 45 minutes, but the rest about 20 minutes each. After three months using it, no major issue. The app is east to use. Connects to home kit and other smart hubs with the connector hub. That’s the only down side is the need of the connector hub. Another device needing a wall outlet.See more

I have a August door keypad and lock that I love once I figured out the alignment, when weather doesn’t affect door. This lock though is about the size of a softball. It’s about 4 times the size of my old deadbolt lock. I replace old deadbolt and relegated this mammoth thing to basement door mostly so we can see that it is locked without going to basement and no one can see this eyesore. I would not buy again without seeing it in person much smaller.See more

I have 2 of these now, always forgetting to lock the 2nd door to my unit, not a worry anymore, also the convenience of not having to use a key to unlock the door ids very helpful when your hands are full.See more

I had an August lock 2nd gen that was working fine until a single piece broke in the motor mechanism. I contacted August to get a replacement part, but they wouldn’t sell me one. They insisted that I had to buy a new lock. What a huge waste of resources. The mechanism for these locks is very simple and easy to repair, so it is a real shame August does not properly support making simple fixes.That said, this new lock works fine.See more

The automation that the lock brings to the door is the most worthwhile feature. With the pandemic and the risk that comes with getting into contact with different surfaces, the auto-lock and auto-unlock features somehow contribute to safety and convenience. Whenever our hands are full of grocery bags, we do not have to find the keys anymore to get into the house. I also like how it integrates with Google Home, although I wish that their communication becomes more stable and consistent. I also hope that in the future, the lock would be able to integrate with other smart security brands like Eufy (doorbell) wherein AI would be maximized further when it comes to recognizing house members.See more

I’m so happy about this purchase. The installation process was so easy since the app literally walks you through everything. When I had a problem opening and closing the door after installation, the app even helped me figured out that I tightened the screws too much. I adjusted and it worked perfectly! My only complaint is how large the knob is. I know there’s a smaller version but you really don’t realize how huge it is until you have it in your hand. The best part is how easy it works with HomeKit! Having Siri lock and unlock the door is just incredible.See more

I’m a big tech guy, so a product has to have a real wow factor to impress me. After reading many reviews like this one, I took a leap of faith and purchased a August lock for my new home build. The setup was super easy, the fit and function is perfect. I had the lock installed and set up in 15 mins. I was concerned about the Geo fence, but I have to say, 9 times out of 10 my door is unlocking as I walk up to it.See more

I am a loyal August Smart Lock customer. I purchased View/Chime as a result. However, it doesn’t work. I am tech savvy and moved a router within 20 ft and had it on auto detect to work on 2.4GHz ( Lock works at that location). Notifications work great as does viewing history, but App crashes 80% of time when you try to go live and thats after 10-15 sec wait for it to wake up. I since purchased Ring and that meets/exceeds expectations. Better quality hardware and it simply works. The neighborhood feature is nice too. Sorry August, I really wanted this to work, but its not a viable product. Do not buy.See more
