Arlo – Pro 3 2-Camera Indoor/Outdoor Wire-Free 2K HDR Security Camera System

The ARLO PRO 3 Camera system with Base Station and 2 Cameras is the best video security system I have ever purchased. I like: – the ease of setting up with wi-fi – the local storage in the Base Station using a MicroSD card so I don’t have to rely on the Arlo Cloud storage which is a fee based service – long lasting lithium batteries – easy magnetic charge cables I bought the optional Arlo Solar Panel to install next to the camera mounted outdoor – this saves time and effort not having to remove the battery for charging – ability to manage the devices from my iPad, iPhone and Laptop – ability to use with Alexa

This system is very easy to set up and view from your phone. I checked out a couple of systems and decided to go with the Arlo 3 Pro. I do wish I could set this up thru my house wifi rather than the cat5 cable.

Arlo systems are very good. The had a distinct advantage in the market when they included 7 days of monitoring storage in the cloud. Unfortunately, they’ve gotten greedy and that isn’t included with models like the Arlo 3. However, you can still do local storage, which I set up to a 2TB Western Digital Elements hdd, which seems to be working great. It’s not a convenient, but it should work out ok for our needs. The cameras themselves are nice and the video quality is great, particularly if you set up to run them on power adapters instead of batteries. In addition to pushing their subscription service, they seem to also be pushing accessories. I found 3rd party compatible power adapters on Amazon for a reasonable price. Likewise with mounting accessories. I made a couple of simple stands instead of hard mounting or cameras, which gives us a lot more flexibility on location and blending into our decor. Lastly, I was really disappointed to learn that they decided to have the camera to base wifi communication run right on top of your router’s 2.4GHz and not make the channel configurable.
